CGA hosts its first-ever joint Energy Nexus & Annual Technical Conference in Calgary, April 17–20, 2023. The two flagship events are being brought together in 2023 to offer a one-stop event for the entire industry.
Join colleagues in a forum on the growing role of gaseous energy — natural gas, hydrogen, and RNG — in Canada, where we challenge traditional ways of thinking on global energy and LNG markets, innovation, affordability, resiliency, changing customer expectations, net zero, and more. The week consists of industry-leading plenary and roundtable discussions, and concurrent sessions. The event includes measurement and regulation training opportunities along with technical presentations typical of the long-standing Gas Measurement and Regulation School. Staying true to the Energy Nexus and ATC events, we will explore topics from both policy and technical perspectives.

2023 IGUA Spring Seminar
The 2023 IGUA seminar explores the challenges of decarbonizing Canada’s trade-exposed heavy industrial and pragmatic solutions. We will also advance the dialogue with other key actors to start building consensus on the necessary next steps and reduce the disconnect between the differing visions for transforming Canada’s energy system and the energy mix of Canada’s heavy industry. We will examine the gaps between political aspirations for 2050 and the near term. We have invited an array of impressive speakers to explore the different facets of the energy transition.

The natural gas industry will have good potential in the future transition to cleaner and reliable energy systems. The LNG sector can play a major role, and gas turbine energy systems are often an important part of various types of liquefaction processes for large facilities.
This webinar will present basic principles of LNG processes and gas turbine applications, including the inlet conditioning of natural gas feeds from the incoming gas pipelines, various refrigeration and liquefaction processes, and matching of compressors with gas turbine driver arrangements and performance. For a new LNG liquefaction plant both the eDrive and GT drive options for refrigeration compressors are discussed, with different solutions of carbon emission abatements and capture are presented.

The Canadian Gas Association is proud to present the 29th Annual Regulatory Course. The course objective is to develop a more complete and practical understanding of the Canadian natural gas regulatory framework and, in particular, the ratemaking process. Concepts outlined in an adult learning format will be reinforced through pre-course reading material and exercises. Interactive participation will be encouraged by using an open format and a hearing simulation involving all students.
